Welcome to our home page, please browse our menu bar above and find out who the Missionary is in a particular part of Belfast, the times of services in the various halls, up to date news and prayer requests, Thought for the Week, sermon outlines and forthcoming events etc. If you want to delve into the formation of the Mission back in 1827 to the present day I would recommend the book “Who Cares” by Author Noel Davidson. “Who Cares” is not a typical dry dusty historical account of an Old Mission but a sharp, in focus, look at the beginnings of Urban Mission in Belfast. Noel has translated the written and verbal accounts he has collated in his research of The Belfast City Mission for this book very well, into pithy, moving and sometimes amusing accounts concerning the evolution of the Mission.

Belfast Town Mission (now, Belfast City Mission) was founded in 1827 to reach the poor, the churchless and the careless. Our aim today is still the same; whilst the times have changed dramatically we continue to preach “a timeless Gospel”
We in the Mission believe intrinsically in the “Reformed Faith”…. Bible based and unashamedly Calvinistic.

We have 21 full time Missionary’s on our staff headed up by Mr Bobi Brown (Executive Secretary) Mrs Sandra McIlwaine and Mrs Angela Magill who all work in the Mission office.
We also have a Charity Shop on the Lower Donegal Road which is run by Mrs Sally McBurney and volunteers.
On the Dublin Road we have a Café called Searchers managed by Miss Carol Menabney.
We are one of the oldest Urban Missions in the world as we reach out to people in Belfast with the good news that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. We are a registered charity and the finance of our Mission depends entirely upon God as he moves people to support our work. We receive no financial help from the Presbyterian Annual United Appeal or any Governmental Bodies.

We are looking for young people over 16 years of age who have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and are currently walking with him, to take part in a Programme of Evangelism in Belfast. If you join us on a full time basis you will be given opportunities to share your faith with others. This will involve working with children and young people, open air evangelism, door to door evangelism and taking part in Mission services. Your Minister will be contacted to ask if you are a suitable candidate.
